LIGHTNING_4
I was wondering if someone can tell me which one of these 3 patches is the exact same as the ones worn on the ice.

LIGHTNING_4
http://www.byronshockeyland.com/June%2009/67%201029.jpg Thanks. It looks like i need to find 3 of the real ones.Do they vary or something?I thought the "Authentic" Stanley cup patches have the curved edges while the reproductions had the pointed edges.Although all 3 of the patches have curved edges could they be reproductions as well? Thanks
akteon
Matt your link searches opportunity on ebay. Not sure where that came from Patch Collectibles ebay user name is "opportoonity". Oddly enough the URL got truncated and ebay fixed it to "opportunity". Their company name is actually Toon's Station, Inc. and it's owned by Richard Feltoon, so despite owning patchcollectibles.com there's a lot of "toon" stuff going on. Anway I fixed the original link. JeffB
I knew a person who only collected patches and had to resort to buying a game worn jersey just to have the patch since he could not find one loose.
Brilliant!
Yeah, that's probably one you won't ever find unless you have it made by someone. I don't even think it lasted the entire year, did it? I have an 82-83 jersey and I haven't seen any sign of a patch ever being on it. LIGHTNING_4
How does this look? http://cgi.ebay.com/NHL-MEMORIAL-PATCH-STEVE-CHIASSON-3-CAROLINA-HURRICANE-/320454423844?pt=U_Hockey_Fan_Shop&hash=item4a9c927524

The real ones were screen printed onto twill. That looks embroidered from what I can tell from the pictures. Pretty much anything from that seller is a remake, but he's got rare designs and they are pretty well done. Here's mine for comparison. JeffB
Where did you find that one Jeff? Back when it was a current patch, I wrote to the team and asked if I could get one. If I recall correctly they sent me one in exchange for a donation to a pond in Chaisson's memory in his home town.

Look at the thickness of the 0's and the spacing between the top serif of the 2 and the mid-section. The 0's are most noticeable because it leads to excess space around the letters inside. Compare it to these below:

nogoal99
Thanks Jeff. I ran through those and disappointingly didn't fined that one I was looking for. Any other ideas? It would be a bummer to have this incomplete jersey laying around.
