What is the difference between ultrafil and airknit?

Recommended Posts

I have seen some pics comparing the two but they still look the same. Also what is the edge 1.0 material called, the stretchy stuff that got replaced in the 2.0?

Airknit and ultrafil are both polyester but they have very different textures.  Airknit has very large pores and is very breathable, so one tends to be a bit cooler when playing in an airknit jersey.  Ultrafil is more tightly knit with much smaller pores.

There are 2 materials in the 1.0 that were replaced by airknit in the 2.0.  X-trafil was the smooth material on the shoulders and parts of the sleeves, and the more stretchy material found on the front of the jersey as well as part of the sleeves was called bubble mesh.

I actually got very upset when he said airknit and Ultrafil look the same. But so as not to look psychotic, I restrained myself.

I don't know why, but that really made me laugh!
