I know the switched back and forth in the late '80's/early '90's. Mine is the straight strip version, but always preferred the mesh with the diagonal stripes. I was hoping they'd go with a "Sunday Gold" ...which they kind of did. I'm digging the numbers on the shoulder, just wish they would have rounded out the shoulders farther down towards the elbow like on the older jerseys. There feels to be too much black up past the elbow. Also not sure if I dig the single layer "C" and "A"...but that's minor. One bonus is moving away from that hideous thin collar of the home/away. That seems to be the case across the board on the Adidas jerseys. I agree with you totally. This one in particular reminds me of those vest-style MLB jerseys some of the teams used to wear.
