Jerseys for temp/replacement alternate captains

Recommended Posts

Anyone ever recreate jerseys like this?

was remembering today how Hossa covered for Keith a few years back and how that might be a cool jersey to have done.

I don’t have it yet, but I’m getting a 92/93 Kings jersey done as a Robitaille with the captain’s C, worn while Gretzky was out with a back injury for part of that season.

My road Hawks is Kane with the A. He was an alternate the night he scored his 250th career goal.

That’s the kind of situation I would do it for. I wouldn’t do it just to do it.

There was a random game during the 15/16 Isles season where Clutterbuck wore an "A" and I ended up adding it to the jersey I owned.  It had two patches, so I wanted to add the "A" to "clutter" the jersey even more. Get it?! It's a pun!

And a well executed one. I approve.

Yes, this is a collecting goal of mine. Going to add an A to Blur Lundqvist Edge (he wore it when they played in Sweden in an exhibition game), did a Nedved with an A from when he infrequently wore it with the Rangers, -!:  thinking of doing a Fleury with a C (he was captain for the first preseason game against Detroit after 9/11) and Kovalev also wore a C in one preseason too.

Hard part is finding game photos to document these rarities.

I have a blank Kings from 02-03/03-04 that I will be doing as a Palffy with the C.  He was usually assistant, and I'm going to assume Norstrom was out injured at some point during those 2 seasons making way for Palffy to wear the C.

not quite the same thing, but my Seabs jersey will be forever missing the A he now wears as he wasn't sporting one when this happened... (even though he was frequently given the A when Sharp or Keith missed time prior to being given the A before the 15-16 season)

The 'Hawks had to score three to win a 2-1 game but they got it done.

I actually wrestle with doing a "pre-A" Seabs jersey or current. Thinking of doing the "17 WC as Seabs as he's my favorite player and that's currently my favorite jersey, but he had a lot of great moments and goals prior to the A.

I hear ya. I thought about it as well. but, I hate the wangs and I was at that game (and game 6). plus, Seabs and I have the same b-day and he has been referred to as "birthday" for many years now. for him to be the one to score against the hated red wings and to be there to see it was.... awesome.

thus, for him, no A.

I'd almost say the same for Hoss considering game 5 vs Nashville.

I'm not a fan of wangs either.

You’re not fooling anyone, Mike. We know you love to Wang Chung!

2 that comes to mind for this topic is Graves when he wore the "C" in 99-00 when Leetch was injured and a preseason Home Blue Gaborik when he wore the "A" in a game vs the Devils.

Cool story. The wangs goal is one I think of in this case as well. I also see the "A" as an honor, which encompasses many of those great moments. It's a tough call. But I could always just have two Seabs jerseys...

I've tallied all the votes so far and it looks like 2 Seabrook jerseys is unanimous.

So there's that.
